There are two primary organic (off-line) models on which much of the auto wholesale industry has operated for decades... the auto auction model and the wholesaler model.
Other attempts to introduce an electronic model to the automobile wholesale industry have mirrored the auto auction model. On both the electronic and the organic auto auction models, the highest bid, over reserve, gets the vehicle - period. Bidding is a competition with the amount of the bid determining the winner.
The wholesaler model functions similarly to a multi-tiered auction process minus the mediation of the auctioneer. Wholesalers on the first tier offer competing buy-bids directly to the dealer who took the vehicle in on trade. These bidding wars can get very loud and hostile and often take place in the dealership, during business hours. Protecting against further disruption of retail operations forces the dealer to accept the highest offer and these hostile disruptions have resulted in a growing number of dealerships banning wholesalers from their premises. Wholesalers in the mid-tiers compete with one another and wholesalers at the top tier solicit competing buy-bids from purchasing dealerships.
USBuyBid is a peer-to-peer networking platform -- NOT an auction! A buy-bid is a private offer, not a competition. The amount offered is seen only by the dealer who offers the bid and the dealer who receives the bid. A USBuyBid subscription is just $99.99 per month, whether you use the service to wholesale one vehicle per year or 100 vehicles per day. This is less than the cost to wholesale a single vehicle per month through the auction lane! Other wholesale sites charge per-vehicle, transaction and/or other fees that discourage heavy use of their sites. It's not cost effective to use their sites as anything but occasional supplements to the auto auction and wholesaler methods... and that's exactly how their members use them, when they use them at all.
USBuyBid is designed and priced to encourage heavy, regular use. While you can use the USBuyBid system to supplement your usual wholesale methods, you can also use our system to fully replace your usual wholesale methods.
Because they charge per-vehicle, transaction and other fees, the auto auctions and other auto wholesale sites have to protect against off-site transactions between dealers and they do it, in part, by playing middle-men in your transactions (paperwork, money, etc.) Similarly, wholesalers must work to provide an effective buffer between the dealers on either end of a series of wholesale transactions to protect their livelihood.

Currently, whether you utilize wholesalers or auctions to increase or decrease your used vehicle inventory, it's likely your reach is limited to your own region of the country. But, due to social, political, economic and gas price differences, demand for and value of any given vehicle can differ greatly from region to region. Whether you're sitting on ten SUVs you can't give away in your part of the country or you're located in an area where those same ten SUVs wouldn't sit on your lot long enough for the engines to cool, it has become necessary for you to expand the reach of your wholesale operations, to better meet the demands of your market and maximize your profits. (Note: We do also offer 72 hour listings for flat-price disposal of vehicles that have been in your retail stock too long.)
